Preparations are underway as our Arts Academy gumboot dancers and marimba players rehearse for their sound to echo through the Sudwala caves when they make their debut performance on the main stage as part of the Kulani Arts Project’s “Echoes from the Cave” production on the 20th of May 2023! Our resident poet, Welcome Mashaba, who has been receiving professional poetry mentorship this year, has been selected to open the performance!
Funded by the National Arts Council of South Africa (NAC), we have been selected as a beneficiary for our youth to take part in this special, interactive daytime performance and tour of the caves. The daytime show is scheduled to start at 09:00 and anyone wanting to support our youth are welcome to buy tickets at the door!
The main public performance is scheduled to take place at 5pm. Tickets are R120 and will be available at the door. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Sinani Arts Academy.
